Li Huasheng was born in Yibin, Sichuan Province in 1944. He entered the Changjiang Shipping School in 1963 and served as a graphic artist in the Union Club of the Chongqing Branch of the Changjiang National Shipping Corporation from 1965 to 1985. In 1979, he visited Beijing for the first time, staying there for three months. In 1980, he became a member of Sichuan Artists Association. In 1985, he joined Sichuan Art Academy and relocated to Chengdu. In 1986, he became a member of the Institute of Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting of Sichuan. In 1987, he was invited by the Center for Chinese Studies at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, as a visiting artist, and stayed in the United States for five months, giving lectures at major American universities. He passed away in Chengdu in 2018.
