Born in 1956 in Qingdao, Shandong Province, Sui Jianguo is a senior professor at the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Fine Arts at Shandong University of Arts in 1984 and a master’s degree from the Sculpture Department at CAFA in 1989.
With over forty years of artistic practice, Sui has gained a deep understanding of creative concepts, work forms, medium selections, and spatiotemporal experience, among other aspects. Since 2008, he has been focusing on creating hand-made clay works and enlarging them into three-dimensional digital works.
