Krista Israel, born in 1975 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, graduated with honors from the State Institute for Art and Craft (IKA) in Belgium with a BFA (2013) and MFA (2016) in Glass Art. She is a mixed media artist specializing in glass.
Looking at her work is like entering a story; the artworks are pleasing to the eye but there is a layer of bittersweetness in all of them. Her works are in a realistic style, but it is not about the obvious reality. She is an artist who uses a broad variety of techniques and materials, using the natural characteristics of those materials to express her thoughts and reflections on the world and people and thus address the needs of our well-being.
