Miao Xiaochun

Born in 1964, Miao Xiaochun graduated from Nanjing University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China, and the Kunsthochschule Kassel in Germany. He is a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and currently resides in Beijing. His extensive body of work includes photography, painting, 3D computer animation, and sculpture.
His works have been exhibited worldwide, including at the 55th Venice Biennale (Chinese Pavilion, Venice, 2013), the 7th Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, 2012), the 1st Kiev International Biennial of Contemporary Art (Kiev, 2012), the 4th Guangzhou Triennial (Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangzhou, 2012), Busan Biennale (Busan MoMA, 2008), etc.
His works are in the collections of, among others, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, US; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, US; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, US; the Smart Museum of Art, Chicago, US; the USC Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena, US; Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, Vienna, Austria; Fondation Nationale d’Art Contemporain (FNAC), Paris, France; Singapore Art Museum, Singapore; Shanghai Art Museum, China, etc.
