Ai Jing is a native of Shenyang, Liaoning Province. As an artist, singer, and writer, she has composed, produced, and distributed five music albums and multiple EP singles. In 1999, Ai Jing started painting under the guidance of Zhang Xiaogang before studying contemporary art in New York.
In 2007, she exhibited her work as a professional artist for the first time, and in 2008 held her solo exhibition “ALL ABOUT LOVE” at Today Art Museum in Beijing. In May 2010, she participated in the exhibition of “Reshaping History – Chinart from 2000 to 2009”, where her installation Tree of Life attracted wide attention.
