Zed Nelson

Zed Nelson, born in 1966 in Kampala, Uganda, studied photography at the University of Westminster, London. He is known for work that explores contemporary society, applying an in-depth approach to undertake long-term, immersive projects.
Nelson’s works have been exhibited internationally in solo exhibitions (London, New York, Hamburg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Madrid, Barcelona) and have been included in UK group exhibitions at the Tate Britain, the National Portrait Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Nelson’s work has received numerous photography awards, including the Visa d’Or (France), First Prize in the World Press Photo Competition, the CAP Prize (Contemporary African Photography Prize) and the Alfred Eisenstaedt Award (US).
