Zhan Wang

Born in Beijing in 1962, Zhan Wang graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1988 and is now a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. As a contemporary artist and sculptor with an experimental spirit, Zhan Wang creates works that are characterized by mutual relation between conceptual art and object material rather than a unidirectional one, and he provides an original conceptual sculpture model – Artificial Rock.
The artist’s artworks are created in the form of sculpture, installation, behavior, photography, or video. In recent years, his representative solo exhibitions include “My Personal Universe”, “Forms in Flux” and “Objects of Idea”. His new works have also achieved breakthroughs in interdisciplinary fields.
