Jenny Walsh

British artist Jenny Walsh once worked at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour. Starting from the aesthetic qualities of glass, she recognized its material characteristics and the important role it plays in supporting scientific innovation.
She worked alongside scientists and engineers to design captivating sculptures and installations that were both interactive and visually stunning. These works of art were either based on scientific data or inspired by scientific aesthetics. She also has a strong interest in neurons, the fundamental building blocks of the nervous system, and their interactions. Using glass, copper, and electronic lighting, the artist created a series of standalone glass sculptures that reflect the forms of neurons.
