Born in Lengshuijiang, Hunan Province in 1985, Duan Junhao obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Department of Oil Painting at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (respectively, in 2007 and 2011).
He currently works at the Art Institute of Foshan. Since 2018, he has shifted his focus from oil painting to public art creation, centering on the relationship between urban development and local traditional culture. He is committed to exploring the intervention of art in public spaces in urban development projects.
Duan has collaborated with institutions, such as Nanhai District of Foshan, Foshan Rail Transit Design Institute, Foshan Grand Theatre, Shamian Island of Guangzhou, and the Art Fund in local art projects.
