Lin Junting was born in Taiwan, China in 1970 and now lives in Shanghai. He is the acting director of Qingniao New Media Art and holds various positions at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, including the director and chief specialist at the Cultural Artifacts Digital Art Research Center, a distinguished professor at the New Media Art Department, and a master’s supervisor.
He excels at integrating the three dimensions of space and the fourth dimension of time, allowing viewers to achieve a kind of “phantasmic experience” by way of their bodily participation and the perceptive transformations they undergo. By entering the liminal space between reality and unreality, the dialectical relationship between momentary consciousness and dreamlike experience results in a kind of Gestalt esthetic encounter.
