Born in 1949 in Châtillon-sur-Seine, Bertrand Lavier lives and works in Aignay-le-Duc, near Paris and Dijon, France.
Instead of relying on any particular medium or technique, Lavier has tried all forms of artistic creation, including painting, sculpture, photography, and installation. He constantly explores the relationship between presentation and representation, life and art, the ordinary and the sublime, commonplaces and landmarks.
