Fu Xiaotong

Fu Xiaotong was born in Shanxi Province in 1976 and now lives in Beijing, where she teaches at the College of Art of North China University of Science and Technology.
Her works feature in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (US), Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art (US), Los Angeles County Museum of Art (US), the White Rabbit Gallery (Australia), and the Zhejiang Art Museum (China), etc.
Fu Xiaotong’s works can be categorized into two types: paper pinhole art and spatial installation art. In her paper works, she expands and innovates the use and expression of traditional Chinese handmade Xuan paper. Her installation works rely mostly on woven copper wire while recombining and innovating various antiquated ready-made products and everyday items.
